Three operating theatres, 25 rooms and imaging on one hospital file

Spitali Aloka, a private hospital in Prishtinë founded in 2002, runs admissions, wards, outpatient clinics, imaging and billing on Codon HIS, with every department writing into the same patient file.

The problem

Spitali Aloka started in 2002 in a small building in Tophane and moved in 2008 into a purpose-built hospital in Veternik: 5,000 square metres, three operating theatres, 25 patient rooms, and imaging that grew from a single-slice CT to a 3T MRI. Surgery, gynaecology, neurology, gastroenterology, cardiology, radiology and the laboratory each have their own department; the patient is the same in all of them. A hospital of that size needs one record, not one program per department.

What we built

  • Codon HIS for admissions, beds, therapies and daily entries; the clinic module for outpatient visits and the ambulatory services around them.
  • Radiology scheduled per device, with the findings written against the study and available in the same file as the visit.
  • Laboratory and imaging findings, therapies and the discharge letter in the patient record, with every action attributed to a named user.
  • Payments, insurer price lists and management reports from the same data, administered by the hospital's own team.

In their words

“I would personally like to endorse the quality, expertise and professionalism of all the people that work at Pyramid dev. We have been working with their HIS "Codon" for approximately a year and everybody, from talented developers to the top management, have always been thoroughly dedicated to our work and given us a lot of support and services when needed.”
